For new students - Friday Oct 19, 2018 between 6:30 and 8 PM
ONLY new students and returning students who are starting new classes will have to attend today.
For returning students - Saturday 10/20/18 through Sunday 10/28/18 - We will celebrate the auspicious Dussera/Vidyarambham during your regular weekly dance and/or music class. You can bring your pooja offerings when
you come for your classes during the next week.
You can bring any of the following for the pooja - boquet of flowers, fruits, scented candles or agarbatti, and guru dakshina (offering to the Guru)
We are excited to be offering these new classes this year:
* Kuchipudi classes for Bharatanatyam students (8 years through adult) - Bharatanatyam students who have learnt atleast 6 to 8 adavu groups can join this class. The foundation that you already have in Bharatanatyam will help you learn Kuchipudi with greater ease and confidence.
* Beginner Carnatic music and bhajans (Adults) - This class is for adults who are interested in learning Carnatic music in a non-intimidating, nurturing, and methodical manner.
* Vedic chanting (for adults and children) - This class will be offered in 6 to 10 week sessions. Each mantra or chant will be taught in the traditional manner with the correct pronounciations in Sanskrit (and other languages). We will be teaching shlokas on all the Gods. We will also cover the various 'sukthAs' and longer chants like 'vishnu sahasranamam,' 'hanuman chalisa,' 'kanakadhara stotram,' 'bhaja govindam,' 'nAma ramAyanam (shuddha brahma.' and other works.
* Karaoke singing (for adults and children) - You will learn how to sing film songs on karaoke tracks and semi classical karaoke songs. Surprise your family and friends, and be a singing sensation at your next social event or get-together!
We are also registering new students for regular classes in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Carnatic Music - beginner to advanced levels and all ages. All students both new and returning, will need to register online: https://www.samskriti.com/registration.html
