Samskriti AcademySamskriti Academy is the educational arm of Samskriti Foundation. Established in 1996 and based in Naperville, Illinois. Samskriti offers year-round classes in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Carnatic Music, Choral Music, and Yoga. The Sivananda style of yoga is taught to the students to enable the body to be flexible, nimble and to perfect the dance technique.
Students of Samskriti perform regularly in various community events and the senior students accompany Shoba Natarajan, in some of her programs. Besides imparting training in dance, music, yoga and dance theory, Samskriti Academy organizes performances and workshops by local and visiting artists. The highlight of its events is "Gurukulam" – an annual cultural camp for children. Gurukulam aims to incorporate the principles of vedic heritage into modern day education. |
